Gingerbread Tea Latte

I guess it’s stating the obvious, but I’ve been on a gingerbread kick this season. At least, the sentiment and aromas of gingerbread. I don’t know about you, but having Christmas fall on a Monday, among other things, is making the leadup feel a little oddly jerky in it’s flow. One instant, it feels to early to get going with certain traditions and festivities—like baking for neighbors, for instance. The next, too late. I’m dipping into that “where does the time go” feeling way more often than I’d like. Good thing, there’s an antidote to that, if just a temporary one, and here it is.

Sweetly fragrant and brimming with warm coziness, gingerbread spice is oh so nice. This Gingerbread Tea Latte captivates the senses and fills your cup, literally. It’s cheerfully revitalizing and calming, a hug in a mug mingling festive aroma and rich flavor with a true wellness boost to boot.

I like to go for extra robustness in tea lattes with an extra strong tea brew, maybe doubling on the sachets.  I love Organic' India’s Tulsi Breakfast blend of hearty Black Teas with potent Tulsi for a deep, revitalizing infusion that pairs perfectly with signature seasonal spices. The result is a heady delight of pure goodness.

Also known as “The Queen of Herbs”, Tulsi  has been revered in India for thousands of years. Tulsi tea leaves can be used to aid in stress relief and uplift mood; support the immune system; and support the body’s natural detoxification process, and more. Add to the mix a healthy sprinkle of piquant fresh ginger, a pinch of nutmeg, cloves, and cardamom, and our ORGANIC INDIA Ceylon Cinnamon, which carries a staggering 41 antioxidants alongside its comforting flavor.

For sweetener, it feels indulgent to include a splash of blackstrap molasses, but the perks go beyond flavor. A biproduct of sugarcane processing that, while still sugar, is packed with nutrients such as iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus. Molasses may not be everyone’s cup of tea…but a little in tea, alongside warming spice? It’s just right. Wishing you all a cup of joy and calm! xo

Enjoy this wholesomely cosy cup of calm and cheer!

Gingerbread Tulsi Tea Latte
Per 1 serving

1 Cup boiled water
1 to 2 ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Breakfast tea bags
½ Tablespoon blackstrap molasses
¼ Teaspoon ORGANIC INDIA Ceylon Cinnamon
Pinch each of ground cloves, nutmeg, and cardamom
¼ to ½ Teaspoon finely minced or grated fresh ginger
½ Cup unsweetened plant milk of choice, or plant-based eggnog
Additional ground cinnamon/spices for sprinkling

Steep the tea bag(s) in boiled water for a few minutes before removing tea bags.
While tea is steeping, place the molasses, syrup if using, spices, and ginger in a large mug.
Warm the plant milk in a small saucepan. Once it’s about simmering, froth with a handheld frother or whisk.
Pour the tea into the mug and give a quick stir to dissolve the spices and molasses. Add the warm milk, spooning extra froth on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
